Commercial Property Maintenance Services (CPMS)

Railway Buildings & Minor Works Frameworks

CPMS provides vital building, civil, and M&E works across Scotland’s rail network. Their standout response came after the 2021 fire at Troon Station, where they were rapidly deployed to lead the emergency response. Within an hour, a “Responsible Manager” was on site coordinating utility disconnections, risk assessments, and structural safety. Temporary propping and platform repairs were swiftly installed, with partial station reopening achieved by 23rd July—just days after the incident. By 26th July, both platforms were operational, with CPMS then supporting canopy repairs and glazing removals. Their swift mobilisation, specialist expertise, and structured incident plan minimised disruption and ensured the safe reopening of the station, demonstrating the agility and value of their framework partnership with Network Rail.

Stadler Rail Service UK

New Trains for Glasgow Subway

Stadler delivered 17 bespoke metro trains for the Glasgow Subway—an engineering feat due to the system’s uniquely narrow 1.22m gauge and tight Victorian tunnels. Introduced throughout 2024, the new trains feature cutting-edge technology and two accessible wheelchair spaces per train, with level boarding and call-for-aid systems—delivering major accessibility gains for the first time. Stadler’s tailored approach improved operational resilience, doubling performance metrics. As a result, the Subway is now the only Scottish transport network to have fully recovered its pre-pandemic patronage, reaching 13 million annual journeys. Stadler’s solution balances innovation with heritage infrastructure constraints, showing how technical excellence and passenger experience can go hand in hand.
