AGS Airports

Project CAELUS

Project CAELUS, led by AGS Airports, is transforming healthcare logistics through the UK’s first nationwide medical drone network. Partnering with NHS Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service, the project has completed live flight trials across remote regions, cutting delivery times dramatically (e.g. 5 hours to 35 minutes). Using a digital twin model and real-time testing, CAELUS demonstrated applications including drone-delivered defibrillators and medicine transport. It boasts 70–90% public support and has influenced NHS procurement and UK drone regulation. CAELUS sets a global standard in using aviation technology for public health outcomes.

Cyclehoop & Glasgow City Council

‘Trips’ Secure Cycle Parking

Cyclehoop’s ‘Trips’ project established the UK’s first app-operated, secure bikehangar network in Glasgow city centre. Users can book, unlock, and track usage via smartphone, and a commuter-focused subscription model was introduced after data showed most bookings were for long durations. Offering top-tier security and convenience, Trips supports modal shift with 15,000km cycled and 5.3 tonnes of CO₂ saved to date. Its success has spurred 11 new locations in 2025. This is smart, scalable cycling infrastructure done right.

First Bus

AI-Driven Timetables

WINNER

First Bus Scotland partnered with Prospective.io to use AI for real-time optimisation of bus timetables. In 2024, over 30 Glasgow services were adjusted to reflect traffic conditions, improving punctuality by 8.3% and boosting customer confidence. Beyond timetables, the AI tool also identifies hotspots where interventions like bus lanes or parking enforcement could enhance journey times. This tech-driven approach is already shaping better services and informing local authority strategies to support a reliable and attractive bus network.
